New requirement from Google Play market
Earlier this year, Google Play has introduced a Primarily Child-Directed Declaration policy that requires all developers to declare whether their apps are primarily directed to children under the age of 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Action required:
Make sure to declare whether your apps are primarily child-directed.
You can follow these steps to complete the Primarily Child-Directed Declaration:
- Sign in to your Play Console.
- Select an app.
- On the left menu, select Store presence > Pricing & distribution.
- Scroll down to the Primarily Child-Directed section and select Yes or No.
- Click 'Submit update.'
After the 10th February, 2018, apps that have not made a declaration may be removed from Google Play.
